We can’t be more
excited to launch our new peels this holiday season! It’s the perfect time to get that quick glow or boost your
facial results. After much
research and many trials, our Skincare Team decided on the Image Peel Line;
specifically the Vitamin C Peel and the Lightening Lift Levels I and II (Pure’s
Signature FaceLift).
So what exactly is a peel?
Facial peels
are products that are applied to the skin in order to remove dead cells and
expose the fresh, softer skin below. The term is also used to describe the
treatment you receive when a peel product is applied to your skin.
Estheticians
use facial peels that affect only the outermost layer the epidermis — skin
that’s most hardened, and no longer “alive.”
When should I get a peel?
Depending on
what your goal is, you and the esthetician will evaluate your skin and
recommend a regimen of peels. For
a result booster, peels can be done immediately after a microdermabrasion or in
between facials with a 2 weeks buffer time in between peels.
Why Should I Have a Facial Peel?
Superficial
peels can benefit the skin in many ways:
- Stimulate blood flow and increase the rate of skin turnover, bringing newer cells to the surface more rapidly
- “New” skin has a smoother appearance, and is better able to retain moisture.
- Improve the effects of sun damage, including a softening of fine lines and a lightening of hyper pigmentation (commonly called age spots)
- Helps to remove open comedones (blackheads) or make their extraction an easier process; often makes it easier to remove closed comedones (whiteheads) which must be lanced prior to removal
- Improves red, pus-filled acne blemishes (by making them easier to extract when they’re ready)
- Improve overall skin texture and remove debris from the skin’s surface.
After evaluating
your specific concerns, your skin care therapist may recommend a series of
peels. However, allergies and other issues may require that you delay a peel
(or choose another option for exfoliation).
Vitamin C Peel
This revolutionary
treatment is performed in four layers and will change the image of your skin in
just one application. Quench your skin with high doses of the most
sophisticated forms of Vitamin C for extreme rejuvenation. Glycolic acid and
gentle, but highly active enzymes, speed up cellular turnover to brighten,
tighten and lighten your skin in just one treatment.
